According to the manufacturer, formula-fed infants have less of the “good” bifidobacteria, than is found in the intestinal flora of breastfed infants, which many experts credit for their overall good health. The Good Start Natural Cultures formula contains the bacterium Bifidobacterium lactis and is designed to help formula-fed infants achieve higher levels of beneficial bacteria and improve the microflora balance in the gastrointestinal tract.
