Put the focus on reading in the waiting room

Encouraging reading is a priority in our pediatric clinic. We've found that a simple, effective way to do that is to eliminate television and magazines for adults from the waiting room. Instead, plentiful children's books have prompted parents to read to their small children and older patients to read to themselves-and sometimes to each other. The waiting room is calmer as well.
